Hello support,
AFter some months of proper functioning (up onto somewhere last week) our RP Lidar A3 (bought 8-2018) is now causing problems. When using the ros package, when can still start the node once, but do not receive any data. A second launch leads to an error indicating there is an internal failure. Further inspection leads to the sensor also not providing data in the interfaces provided by the manufacturer. Checking using a phone camera reveals that the Laser seems to me no longer working (no light showing up), whereas an A2 (used for comparison) does still show up.
Our current idea: the laser diode is broken.
Could you reflect on this, and indicate whether this is reparable or we should sent the scanner in for replacement?
