Sizing the motor for very low rpm

Hi Sir,

I have a 200 mm (W) X 50 MM (L) X 100 MM (Ht) carrier assembly which i require to move a distance of 200 mm through a guided rail with a velocity of 9 mm/sec. The weight of this carrier assembly is about 1.5 Kg. Foe this i would be providing approximately 4 Nos. of 0.02 cm wheels, and i want to provide two small motors for the rear wheels. other details you can assume as per the standards

Can you please explain how to chose the motor size for the same?

Regards,
Sanesh

Can you confirm that the drive wheels you are using will be 0.02cm (0.2mm)? That is incredibly small. Note too that we need to know if that’s a radius or a diameter.
You can use the following free tool to get an idea of the motor’s torque and RPM: robotshop.com/blog/en/drive- … -tool-9698

Am extremely sorry for the typographical error. The radius of the wheel is 0.02 m.

Makes more sense. Try using the data you know with the link provided to see what torque (oz-in is best) and RPM you get.
