Simulating muscle movements

Hi everyone,

New here! I am an artist and I wish to make a gross, small slowly pulsating muscle. I will make the muscle out of silicone. But please could someone more knowledgeable advise what small piece of robotics I could purchase to sit underneath, so that the muscle slowly pulsates, making it look like it’s living? Not vibrations - slower, longer movements.

How small that muscle would be?

The first thing that comes to my mind is to integrate a really small actuator with really short stroke that would move this muscle up and down.

We have some small actuators with 10mm stroke, but not sure if this is too big for your project. For example:
