I bought a part for my roomba robot. I cost 25 bucks. The shipping was another 10.71. for U.S. postal service. The part was small.
There is a 5.00 (ship anywhere in the USA) box that the Postal Service sells. I suggest you try them. If handling costs 5.71 to put a small part in a box, then I suggest you look into that too.
Hi Charlie,
Thank you for your suggestion.
We understand that it can be upsetting to pay this amount for shipping and handling fees for a small part. RobotShop is very competitive in terms of shipping and handling prices and is always optimizing to give the best service possible.
We do ship everywhere in the USA via UPS. We in rare cases will use USPS, since UPS does not deliver to PO boxes and APO. We also use it if a customer requests it. We use UPS since it is very reliable, the tracking service is better, and their system is more automated, so we can ship your orders faster and at a reasonable cost. Most customers are very happy with the service and fast shipping we give them with UPS.
Please note that the only time we will charge handling fees is when an order is less than $30. In this case, $3 will be added to the shipping fees to cover our time and expenses. This is probably why it seems more expensive than it actually is. In these cases, you may consider purchasing another small part you may need which will not augment the shipping fees but, will remove the $3 service fee. When this fee is added you will note the following message where the shipping choices are located:
Add $5.00 to your cart to save service fees!
Warning: A $3.00 service fee has been added to your shipping cost since your total order is less than $30.00, before taxes.
We hope that this explanation helps you in understanding RobotShop’s shipping and handling fees. We are sorry if this has caused you any inconvenience.
Regards,
