Hi all. Looking for recommendations on how to couple the shaft of the Cytron Gearmotor (RB-Cyt-30) to a VEX Gear (RB-Inn-76).

The ideal connecting hub would be 12mm (the Cytron motor’s output shaft) to 1/8". However, this may not be easy to find, and RobotShop does not offer it. You may want to consider making your own plastic coupler (so long as the torque is not too high) out of polyfmorph plastic. If you can find a 12mm shaft coupler, you might be able to fill in one end with polymoph and fit the vex shaft.

Hi … I don’t know the parts but I generally look to mcmaster.com for nuts, bolts and et cetra. Coupling 12mm to 1/8" seems like a significant power mismatch but if it works… If a flexible coupling will work for you, a “Flexible Spider Shaft Coupling” is the easiest way to mix metric and inch shaft sizes. Check out this page at McMaster.com (I think Jameco also sells some spider couplers.)
