SES V2 launch date?

Hey guys,

I was planning on investing in the SES kit. As i understand, there is a SES V2 in the works. I wanted to know if there is a launch time frame that you guys know of so that I can wait before i plunk down over 1g for buying the kit?

Thanks

Or maybe LM can offer an upgrade kit!

We still have quite a lot to do before it’s released, so it won’t be in the coming months. Until we have stock ready to ship, we can’t provide a set date.
You won’t surprised in a month with a sudden release of the V2 - don’t worry. Without giving away too many details, we are also doing our best to make as much as possible be reverse compatible with the V1.1, and it would make sense if we were to offer an upgrade kit. Given the versatility of the V1.1, you won’t go wrong.

Thanks a lot. I just placed the order for the SES V1.1  - shall look forward to the upgrade kit . In the meantime - its time to build some Mechs!!

Mechs are certainly a lot fun. Be sure to use the more powerful servos (645MGs) in the legs. Hope you post some images and videos of your projects.

Cool. I also intend on using some motion sensors, and GPS/GPRS arduino shields to actually make this a more useful and versatile mech to communicate with in some real world applications. I even bought the biped scout chassis along with it . I have a few crazy ideas - will definitely post the images/videos as i make progress.

You’ll be swimming in brackets and hardware.
If you plan to make a heavy mech, remember not to “overburden” the servos - if you find a location needs more torque (especially the kneees and hips), then it’s best to upgrade rather than forcing them.

Looking forward to seeing your creations!

I have a lot of SES parts, It would be nice if we had a list of the parts in the SES V1.1 set. I’d like to see what I need to complete my parts inventory.

Edit: I’m thinking that the SES V2 Needs to be able to build an 18DOF hexapod! And a better wheeled 'bot.
