Servos for AL5A

Hello!

I am building an AL5A arm.
Could you please check if the following placement of the servos is correct:

base hs-422
shoulder hs-755
elbow hs-645
wrist hs-422
grip hs-422

I am more concerned about the elbow, because at first I put a 422 there and afterwords read a post here and replaced it with the 645. The instructions are not clear enough. I don’t want to mess things up and ruin something!

Thank you very much!

Yep elbow should be 645. Look at step 13 in the assembly guide. lynxmotion.com/images/html/build140.htm

I’ve seen step 13, it says to use a HS-475HB and as I didn’t have one (pakage contains 3 pieces of 422, 1 of 755, 1 of 645) I got a bit confused.

Thanks a lot!

Laura

Sorry about the confusion guys. The elbow servo should be a HS-645 servo. It used to be an HS-475 servo, but it looks like we forgot to update the tutorial when we made the change.

It’s fixed now.

I had a similar problem when I built my Arm, but if you read the text:

I know the confusing part is seeing figure 12 with the 475, but this figure is simply showing a “Generic” servo and how the servo horn should be mounted on it…

Kurt

We will be blurring the servo numbers in all the photos used in our assembly guides. We reuse photos if they are similar in mechanical nature. The text within the step is the only place to get accurate information for the robot you are building.
