Servo spline shaft couplers for HS-55 or micro servos?

Hi All,

I’m trying to find a HS-55 servo spline shaft coupler for a small diameter shaft, ie: 2mm. I’ve been searching online for a week and have not been able to find anything for 15 tooth servo splines like on the HS-55. I had thought about using a 2mm to 4mm shaft coupler but the set screws on the ones i’ve seen are too high up (i think) to properly engage with the spline on the servo end. I have tried gluing the shaft inside the spline recess hole and encompassing the spline itself with the glue, and i’ve tried all kinds of glue, but of course it doesn’t really work, at least, not for long.

Does anyone have any ideas or experience on whether such a coupler exists, whether there is a near match or what alternative attachment methods there might be? The space i’m working with is tight, so i’m looking for a length of no more than 15mm and outside diameter of about 9mm max.

Thanks in advance for any help or info.

The HS-55 uses a type A1, 15 tooth spline, which is quite non-standard. As such, not many third party manufacturers have created accessories for this. Most design for 24T (Hitec) or 25T (Futaba) splines. It’s best to connect to one of the horns included with the package. You can machine / adapt the horns too in order to fit your size constraints. Worst comes to worst, drill a perpendicular horn through the shaft and insert a rod (or something else).

Thanks for your reply.
