my Tower Pro MG945 servo isn’ t working as efficiently as i would have hope, i need an upgrade, i don’t know much about servos and need assistance on choosing the right one
Hey @nickgotcaught!
Usually, servos have a rated torque in N * m, Oz * in or Kg * cm. This means that a servo with, let’s say, 5kg*cm, can lift a 5kg load with a “lever” or arm with a length of 1 cm.
From what I gathered, MG945 servos have a torque of 12KG*cm at 6V. If you are driving them at a voltage lower than that, you could try pumping some more. They are rated for 4.8 to 6.6 volts but I wouldn’t recommend driving them at 6.6 volts of you intend to use them for long periods of time.
