Servo Erector Set 3-D Models Database

sketchup? what is the file extension?

nevermind, it can do 3ds, i can do that conversion. will work on it to get to Beth.

I am back to working on my servo model also, based on the existing model and fixing the problems it has. I am about half done with the case now and have finished the top cover.

I don’t expect any alignment problems this time, because I created the blocks for the case and bottom cover from copies of the top cover. The top cover aligns perfectly with the asb-04.

Excellent work! Between us, we will get a perfect set of models for everyone. The only other problem I know of, which I have not yet fixed, is the hub-09/asb-19 hole alignment problem.

I am back into doing more CAD stuff now, since I am starting to wind down development on v1.4.0 of my robot software.

Thanks, I can now get the assemblies too, got 2006 now. I can take a look at the 9/ 19 issue. I also have a dummy hs-645 model if anyone is interested for ses.

I don’t think a model made from actual dimensions will match up with the SES parts. I started out making my servo model according to dimensions I got from the Hitec site, but it was way too small to mate with the SES stuff. I don’t know if there are any standard servos that are actually 50+ mm long, but that is about what the servo model in the Lynxmotion set is. I had to match my dimensions to that model and then correct the hole alignment on the tabs to make it fit the asb-04 bracket with all four holes aligned.

I built the servos to scale, then adjusted the holes to the ses brackets. They work, amd assemble nicely, they are dummies, no internals.

I just finished my servo model this morning, and have zipped and sent everything to you in STEP 214 (.stp), IGES (.igs), and Alibre Design (*.AD_PRT) formats.

I have learned a LOT by creating this set of 3D models.

Enjoy!

Were these ever converted to .3ds to import into sketchup 5? I’m looking for the SES in a format that I can load into Sketchup.

I can do it, just gotta get to them…

Thanks for replying to my other thread bud. I REALLY appreciate it.
I would love to have the SES on .3ds so I can import into sketchup pro.

Thanks a million!!

I see you got the files up beth, thanks alot!!

Unfortunetly, it doesn’t seem that sketchup can handle the models. They are very graphically demanding and the program gets major choppy and slows down to the point you can’t even use it. I tried it on my decktop to see if it was just my laptop but sketchup does the same thing on there.

Too bad, I was looking forward to using them. I might have to find a copy of 3DSMax to use.
Thanks alot broken laser. That was real nice.

Evolution, contact me and give me an email, i’ll help you out, sketchup stinks, there are other options.

hmmm i us maya and have been for 7 year’s now
and for inport i us .obj or .3ds or .ma

if you like to us a file everone can us try .obj or .3ds
must program’s like .obj seen alote start using .3ds
in maya inporting a .3ds file you get better work flow
wall i do that is

if someone here can make a .ma file maya file of a servo that would be really cool

i am looking for a obj 3ds or ma

I made an HS-805BB to scale and have it in .3ds. I also have a Standard sized HS-5475 in .3ds

The ASB-04 brackets now have .125" radius corners in eight places, as shown in the image. If someone can update the 3D models, it would be greatly appreciated.

Is that to make it Lighter?

Very nice! Why did those last two corners not get rounded? Hmmm?:smiley: Rounded corners mean far fewer accidental scrapings.

Ah, OK. Well it looked great! I will look forward to using the new ASB-04’s when they are avaiable (and not scraping my hands so much).

We’ve been shipping the new ones (brushed and black ano) for a month or so.

With my surgery and all, that’s about how long it’s been since I ordered anything from you. I will be restarting my monthly orders next month.:smiley:
