Serial 20x4 lcd module will not refresh

I purchased the serial 20x4 lcd, it works fine with the Arduino mega as far as displaying the first screen sent to it.
When I rewrite something else to the screen it will over write portions of the screen but it will not clear or refresh
when I use the lcd.clear() command. Any suggestions ?

Hi I received the info from another person on the form, but perhaps you could help me out with a problem I am having with tha ArduCam I just purchased from you. I am using the Arduino IdE, but I do not know which board to choose , or if I even have the correct one loaded in to the IDE, could you let me know which board it is that I should be using and where I can find it?
