Seeking quiet motor and controls :)

Hello, i hope to get some help from your guys…

im working on a camera project, to make the zoom on the lens, motor driven.

what i need is a QUIET motor ( because of the mic. on the camera) with a power around 250 OZ-in / 20kg-cm

it should be driven by a 7,4v li-on battery

i have looked at this: robotshop.com/en/spur-gear-motor-pg12-100p-45rpm.html

RC-servos dossent work, even the expensive ones are far to noisy…

and regarding controls… i would like a system with 2 switches, one for zoom in, and one for zoom out, ideal would be pressure sensitive or at least soft start, can the soft start be achieved with a condensator?

Can i buy somekind of electronic, that can handle this request?

thanks in advance for your help

It’s rare that a motor has a DB (decibel) rating, so as such, we don’t have any immediate solutions. You might want to consider placing the motor a distance away from the microphone (using a shaft to connect it at a distance, and perhaps even use an external microphone? You can also try to use acoustic foam to further reduce the noise. Last, you might consider a brushless DC motor made for gimbals (these are slower speed and might be a bit less noisy; you can also rotate them CW CCW). Do you want to control them wirelessly or via a cord?
