Hello , I am looking for a robotic arm (Ito to the ground) to pick up objects up to six pounds. I would like to use thermal camera to determine what to pick up and what not to.
Hi @llewis2024 and welcome to our forum.
To help you choose appropriate robotic arm, it would be good to know more about your project:
- In which country are you located?
- What is the maximum reach needed for this robotic arm?
- Do you already have a controller to which you will connect this arm and thermal camera?
- What exactly are these six pounds object? Do you need a special gripper for these? Meaning , what are the dimensions of these objects?
- Do you have programming experience and/or experience with robot integration or you would need support for this?
- What is your budget for this project?
Looking forward to your reply.
Hello! Thank you for your response.
- I live in Canada
- The max reach for this robotic arm would be two feet from the base
- Yes, we have a controller - raspberry pi
- We are hoping to pick up dead chickens
- We have basic experience - we would be willing to hire help if needed
- Our budget a few thousand
Thank you!
Leanne
Hi @llewis2024 ,
Thank you for your reply.
You can see here all the robotic arms which RobotShop sells:
I would recommend some of UFACTORY robotic arms:
For example, UFACTORY xArm 5 Lite Robotic Arm (5 DoF):
This arm offers 3KG payload (little bit less than 7 lbs) and it has reach of 700mm (little bit more than 2 foot) and also it is suitable for macOS, iOS, Windows, and Android. xArm SDK includes Python, ROS, and C++. Fully open-source software platforms offer more flexibility for your integration.
Here you can buy gripper and vacuum gripper and also mount for your thermal camera:
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask anything else.
