SDC2130S 30V 1x40A Brushed DC Motor Controller

Is the brake control also adjustable from 0 to 100% on the SDC2130S 30V 1x40A Brushed DC Motor Controller?

Hi dante,

According to the user manual, the brake would be either On or Off for this controller:

Roboteq Controllers User Manual v17

All the best,

Do you sell any controllers that would have the brake control adjustable from 0 to 100%

Hi dante,

We have contacted RoboteQ regarding this and will let you know once we have an answer.
In theory, the braking system is simple by shorting the motor you get braking. This said if you do a PWM on the short it will provide proportional but we need to know if that’s implemented in their controller.

Best regards,

In Addition, are you looking for regenerative or mechanical braking ?
We assumed it was regenerative in our previous replies.

Thanks.

Regenerative or mechanical braking would be fine; I would not need the back voltage.

Here’s a couple sights that maybe helpful.

RoboteQ confirmed a way to do it:

For proportional braking, you need to adjust the PWM while regenerating.

If the motor has encoders, then the speed can be measured and from that information you can apply the technique described in this application article. The article talks about brushless but it can be applied just the same to brushed.
