Scout

Does anyone have, and want to share, a good walking gait for the biped scout robot?
If you can i’d apriciate the actual pulse width you give to the servos.

Thank you in advance,
Vlad

We lost the code for James Scout walk on a lap top crash. :frowning: Sorry…

lucky me . Thank you anyway

Maybe ask list members if they happen to have this code?

hmm sry but not shure what you mean by “list members”. Hope maybe they read the forum also and maybe post:)

Yeah, forum members. I suspect some may have downloaded or been supplied the code at one time. Look for the usual BRAT “suspects”. (that didn’t sound too good!).

If no one is able to provide the walking gate for the scout, you might want to watch some videos and try to create your own.
If you don’t have the Visual Sequencer software, you might want to consider buying it. It makes things a little easier.

About the Visual Sequencer software. I don;t have this but i don’'t have the normal board used to control the robot either. I am using one done by me, whit a STM32f103RB MCU, so i don’t think i could easily use that software.
Thank you for the movies . I was already busy copying the gates from the first movie you posted and it’s going quite good. 1 problem left to solve and it should be working. Maybe i’ll post a movie whit my robot walking and it’s gait’s once ready.

Yeah the visual sequencer works well with the SSC-32 and the BAP MCU. I’m not sure how it would work with your custom board.

We always enjoy watching videos of fellow bot builders! So when you’re ready, post a Youtube video of it!

SN96 please do you know where i can get the code for this scout on the vids. ty.

The SEQ code for the Scout in the lower video came from here.
lynxmotion.com/images/html/build109.htm

For some reason it was dropped from the Scout assembly guide page. We have replaced it.

The Boss: ty very much for the link, do you know of anybody that has written full code for the scout that includes sensors i.r or ping ultrasonic. ect and or even accelerometer and gyro , any help on these would be appreciated. as u can tell i am no coder but build prolificly. Thanks in advance.

the short answer is no.
the best thing to do it to learn a little. bit by bit. i would say the best way to start would be to link up a botboardII and an Atom Pro28 and start by moving the servos how you want, by sending simple servo commands. you can then get help with adding sensors etc.

here is a start: i wrote this after jim sent me a link.
read it and try and understand how it works. it will need perfecting for you scout.
download/file.php?id=280

also Here’s a link with both video’s and a gait using sensors.

The slightly longer answer is I’m quite certain that people have written code for the Scout with sensors etc. However, for whatever reason, no one has taken the time to publish the work. The projects posted on forums only represent a fraction of the projects out there.

i agree, i also think is worth looking (Google) for these other project. im sure is published somewhere.
people love showing off there work. :stuck_out_tongue:

The boss/inerbreed, thank you for you input. I tend to agree that there is code out there and ppl do not document it or wish to share it. however on the other hand i am different and will document most of my work, and have done so on Trossen forum and Parallax. but tend to come here a lot now as i love Lynxmotion products they are awesome. i am usually know as 4mem8 on a lot of forums and post detailed descriptions of my projects and would do the same for code if i was good at it. check out my website. robosapienv2-4mem8.page.tl/
