Scooba charges battery but does not power up

I used Scooba last week and she worked perfectly. I filled her up this week and she won’t power up at all. The battery charges just fine according to the pulsing light on Scooba. The Scooba light stops flashing as if to indicate it is fully charged. Scooba is unplugged from the charger but it won’t power up as if the battery is not connected. The battery is properly connected as far as I can tell. Of course, I am suspecting it is the battery. Would the battery suddenly just go, working one week and then not working at all the next? Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

Thanks for your reply.

I have had the Scooba for just over a year.

I always leave the Scooba plugged into the wall to charge.

I tried the charge reset procedure and it did not seem to help. Scooba’s charging light pulses for a few hours then goes solid as usual when it finishes charging the battery. The Scooba seems to have power until I unplug it from the charger and then it is dead like the battery is not connected which of course it is.

I think you are right it might be a problem that Robotshop may have to troubleshoot.

My scooba abruptly died. It still hums as it used to do, but no lights turn on. Neither the charing one nor the tart one. I tried resetting the battery an some sound actually occurred but stil no other sign of life. Is there something I may do before taking it to assistence?

The problem can be caused by the motherboard, the charger or the battery. Have you replaced the battery within the last 2 years? If not, we would suggest you to replace the battery and verify how it goes.

Yes, I did. Moreover when it did happen that the battery died out, it did not immediately kill the device but rather run for a shorter time.

Hi xweberx,

How long have you had your Scooba for? Do you always leave your Scooba on the charge? Or do you charge it for 3 hours and then remove the robot from the charger, and remove the battery?

You may want to reset your robots charging system by removing the battery and then pressing the power button for at least 15 seconds. Then reinserting the battery and charging it for 72 hours. This refresh charge may help your robot.

If this is not a battery problem, there could be a problem with your robots charger or control panel, which is preventing it from turning on.

If you robot is still under warranty you may want to contact the manufacturer with this problem.

xweberx,
