Sbl1360 analog hal sensor feedback

Hey everybody

I’m interested in the sbl 1360. I would like to know if it is possible to get an anlog feedback about the hall sensors. I want to control the controller with a microcontroller.
In my application it is important to count the turns of the motor, for an exact distance.
Is it possible to get the feedback of the hall sensors and transmit it to a analog line?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

The SBL1360 Motor Controller has a connector for hall sensors and doesn’t include a hall sensor.
The hall sensor connector input of the SBL1360 has 5 pins : GND, 5V, Hall A, Hall B, Hall C.
Please refer to the datasheet for more information :

Yeah that’s clear to me.
But i control with that controller my ec motor with hall sensors.

My questions is, is the controller capable to count the turns and send it to a analog line.
If not, is there a way to send the signals of the hal sensor, which are recognized by the controller, to a analog line?
When it is not possible i will bridge the hall sensor cables to the micro controller and do it manually.

The SBL1360 doesn’t convert the hall sensor counts to an analog value (it doesn’t have analog output pins).

According to the data sheet you can reprogrammed the pins on the r232 connector. This means it has an output on this pins, hasn’t it?
I saw the video described the controller, there is a possibility to set a individual output on each pin with an analog output.

But I think i have to bridge the hall se sir output of the motor and analyze it on the microcontroller.

Hi,

According to the datasheet, it is indicated :

However, it is not mentioned anywhere in the datasheet that you can configure the SBL1360 to have analog outputs.
It is not clear whether analog feedback means analog feedback into the controller or from the controller.
Anyways, we have contacted Roboteq to obtain more details about analog inputs/outputs of the SBL1360.
If the controller does have analog outputs, we asked if it can convert the counts of the encoder input to one of the analog output.
We will post their reply here.

We had a reply from RoboteQ. Sorry for the delay :

The RIOX1216AH extender will be soon available at RobotShop under the product code : RB-Rob-100
