This was a cool anime about humanoid robots that were controlled by laptops/computers back in the 80s that I used to watch as a kid in Japan, anyone ever watch this?

When I saw the Kondo robot for the first time a couple of years ago, this was the cartoon that came to mind…
This cartoon was waaay ahead of its time, only until recently has it become near reality…

I don’t have access to youtube at this moment, but try doing a search on “sanshiro jumaru” and you should be able to find a few videos out there.
Strange, I was just watching it last night… I wonder why it got removed… As far as I know, they (the Japanese TV Studio) doesn’t even have DVD distribution of this fine cartoon.
How annoying, the only copies left on youtube are all in Greek. I hate dubbing, it makes the characters sound VERY out-of-character.
O thats a pretty cool show, pretty nice for its time. My insperation to robots came when i was around 6-7 from the series Gundam Wing, now my favorite mech show is Mobile suit gundam 00- pretty interesting series.
The Gundam stuff puts me to sleep, but I haven’t watched the newest series. I’m currently watching InuYasha, great show (no robots though).
The cool thing about this show is that it features many humanoid bipeds at the scales that we are used to. This cartoon is circa 1983! This show was very short-lived but the impact it had on me was I wished there was something like this growing up. Now that we have LM, Kondo, Hitec, and etc, we are on the path to these kinds of events (just look at the Robo-One and Robo Games). Sure the bots aren’t wrestling, but who knows? When I was finally able to recall the name of this cartoon I watched when I was a kid in Japan, I decided to name my Bioloid Humanoid “Juumaru”
