RC lawnmower how to start battery power from the transimiter

Hi Old man 83,

We don’t understand the question, can you give us more informations ?
You won’t be able to trigger anything ON with your transmitter unless the system is already powered.

Hi I think what he means is he wants to be able to connect/disconnect the power remotely going from the batteries to the motor controller that are onboard the mower.

I actually have the same thing and am looking for a way to do that along with a way to remotely kill the motor on the lawnmower as well.

I’m thinking of using an actuator tied to a bar that is connected to a battery cutoff switch and the mechanical engine brake lever on the mower.

The RC unit does have the failsafe if it loses contact but considering the bot weighs probably close to 200 pounds and has a mower blade spinning, having the ability to kill all systems remotely is more of a necessity than nice to have.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

In this case, a Dimension Engineering BattleSwitch Radio Controlled Relay - DE-01 can be used to connect/disconnect the main battery to the motor driver with the RC Transmitter.
The RC Receiver will need to be powered through a separate power supply though. This Dimension Engineering 5V 1A Switching Voltage Regulator and Voltage Regulator Breakout Board could be used to supply 5V to the RC Receiver from a second battery.
