The following link takes you to the Shorting Bar Jumpers and Connectors at a glance page. It illustrates how to use a servo cable extender to connect the SSC-32’s TTL serial communications lines to a Bot Board. You should be able to use it to connect to your microcontrollers header posts.

As for software. You will need to send ASCII commands at the proper baud rate for the SSC-32’s jumper settings. Because you will not need the RS-232 level shifter you will need to invert the data sent. Hope this helps…
