Rs232 (ssc-32u)

Hi.
I’m using an SSC-32U Servo Controller connected to an AL5D robot arm.ù
I need to control the robot’s movements through an RS232 interface (not USB).
How to proceed ?
Could I change the controller with an Arduino based with Rs232 interface?
Thanks
M.

Are these the right boards ?

Note that the SSC-32U is a dedicated RC servo controller which uses a specific communication protocol, not used elsewhere. As such, if you want to use another RC servo controller, you’ll need to learn the new communication protocol and send commands from another interface. This is not something we’d be able to guide you in.

You could use a microcontroller like an Arduino with the RC servo library, but that too will require programming on your part, as well as custom wiring.

It seems like this is what you’d really want:

If you don’t find other options, we can see if we have any left over to offer you via quote.

Hi !
Thanks for your answer.
Yes, the SSC32 is the correct unit.
Could you please send me a quote…

@mboccardi Before providing a quote, we’ll need to verify (physically) that we still have some available (not part of the regular warehouse). It might take a few days but we’ll get back to you here with a confirmation. To confirm, you’d only look for one unit or more?
