rs232 problem

Hello;
I just received the new ssc32 and found the rs232 is different from my previous one. The new one is rs232male but the cable is male-female that I could not connect it to the pc. The old one is working fine because the connector onboard is female.
The new one is came with the BH3-R hexapod. I connect it to BB2 but still powerpod could not find the ssc32. Is that something wrong with the SSC32? Anyone know what happen?
Thanks in advance!! :smiley:

Below is what an ssc-32 should look like wih a female DB9 connector.

Thanks! My old ssc32 is just look like your pic! But not the new one. I wonder if any difference between solo ssc32 and the one in robot package.
So do I need to return the new one? Or just change the connector to a female by myself?

I have never seen an SSC-32 with a male connector. When and where did you purchase? I’ve checked the ones on the shelf and they are correct. This is definitely unusual. Does it look like it was changed, is there solder flux on the pads? Got a pic?

I think some one reply my labmate about the same question. No changing for the connector. We found this when we opened the package. Since I’m using ssc32 before, my labmate asked me if this is normal. I just told her that might be difference between robot package and solo ssc32. But after we tried to config the robot according to the assembly guide, we could not connect it to the pc with that db9 cable.
I have images, but I don’t know how to post…

Where did you get ā€œthe packageā€?

If I hadn’t seen the image I wouldn’t have believed it. I have no idea how this happened. Obviously we are replacing it.

There’re 3 pics in it. Sorry they’re kinda blur because taken by the cell phone camera.
Robot package is ordered from lynxmotion. It’s hexapod BH3-R.

Please send me a PM with the order number and the address where we can ship the replacement.
