RS232 motor and actuator control

Hi Guys,

I work with underwater equipment and am looking for an RS232 4- or 8-channel motor controller, preferably forward/reverse and some degree of speed control. Motors can be 6v or 12v with peak load about 1.5A so quite small.

Does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes something like this as standard ?

cheers,

R2

Any news on this front, RS232 4- or 8-channel motor controller,
I need similar solution.

Thanks,

Hi R2inOz,

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. You may want to consider the Cytron 4 Channel 5-26V, 3A Brushed DC Motor Controller. It does not have RS232 control, though you can use a microcontroller as intermediary. Alternatively, you can use two dual serial motor controllers. Yet another option would be to use two dual R/C motor controllers connected to one (serial) servo controller. As you can see, although we don’t offer a single product that offers direct serial control of 4 motors, there are easy ways around it.

Hope this helps,
