RS232 Cable

If I were to make a custom RS232 cable, teminating with 25 pin D connectors, which pins do I need to supply?
The obvious list is Gnd, Tx and Rx… Any other signals required? Also, is it a straight through or null modem cable?

I am using the Lynxmotion usb to serial adapter on the PC side, so would need to know what signals it is expecting. I have read elsewhere on the forum that pins 2,3 & 5 are the only others needed.

Thanks,
dj

All that is truly required to send commands is the tx and ground. Tx, rx, and ground for bidirectional coms.

For bidirectional, straight through or wired as a null modem cable (Tx and Rx crossed)?

The SSC-32 is set up for a direct connection. No null modem cable is required.

Thanks !
