I would like to get a back shaft version of the rs-555 motor. I can’t find one from Banebots or anywhere else I looked. I want a back shaft version so I can use an encoder.
Has anyone tried to replace the shaft with a longer one from a rs-550 back shaft?
I wonder how hard it would be to press the shaft out and replace it.
When I connect the p60 gearbox there is no good way to connect an encoder.

I believe it has the same dimensions as the RS540.

Sorry for digging but are there any Banebots motors with back shaft still available? On banebots.com there is listed a rs540 motor with backshaft but I cannot find any on robotshop.com.
Are there any other options with 3.2mm shaft and that fit p60 gearboxes?

Our supplier for those types of motors is Banebots, so if they don’t have it, we don’t have it. You can probably find a larger encoder from US Digital which can fit on the output shaft.

Banebots currently does not have any encoders and as such they don’t feel the need to have motors with rear shafts. We cannot find the 540 motor with rear shaft that you spoke of. It’s best to choose a setup which already has a rear shaft:
