RPLIDAR S2E ethernet connection

We received 2 of those lidars (S2M18 and S2M30) from RobotShop.

They were supposed to connect to an UART but came with an ethernet plug !
Now we try having it working

1/ I used RobotStudio: LIDARS were recognized by RobotStudio, but an error occurred when trying to connect (it seems the the plugin -frame grabber- does not support S2 series)

2/ we wrote some lines of code according to SLAMTEC interface doc (SLAMTEC_rplidarkit_protocol_S2E_v1.0_en.pdf). I was able to recognize the lidars on the network,but did not succeed any further request (information_request, scan_start etc)

Does anyone had more succes ? Getting these animals work in a way or another ?
(we are stuck, we do not have anything that allows product evaluation)
