RPLIDAR A3 Outdoor Mode

I’m using RPLIDAR A3 and want to use it in outdoor. I have attempted to use it in outdoor but the data was strange. I read the overview and followed the code in here but it has nothing to do with turning to outdoor mode. How can I activate the outdoor mode of RPLIDAR A3?

Hmm, this info is actually not easy to find at all!
It may relate to the new API addition getAllSupportedScanModes().

Since I’m unsure of the proper answer to this, I’ve contacted the manufacturer on your behalf (and mine! I’m kinda curious now…) and will post here again once I have more details!

It seems we are on the right track with scan modes!

Here’s a copy of the the manufacturer’s response:

RPLIDAR A3 supports five modes: Standard, Express, Boost, Sensitivity and Stability. Among these, the Stability mode is outdoor mode, and the Boost Sensitivity Stability modes use the new data format, you may refer to the protocol. If you want to switch the mode, please read the SDK code which has the complete implementation process. The attached picture are some reference for you to see the data processing.
