Hi I was looking into the RPLiDAR A3 and noticed that the distance resolution of the sensor is not specified at the measurement performance section unlike the A2 and A1. Is the resolution of the A3 the same or better than the A1 and A2. Thank you very much.
Hello @gedaimaster and welcome to the forum,
The distance resolution is the same as for the RPLiDAR A2.
Hi, I have talked with the SlamtecSupport regarding this matter and they gave me this specification,
<0,5% of the distance for <10m
<1,0% of the distance for 10~20m
<1,5% of the distance for 20~25m
The problem is that when we consider the <1,5m distance, it would seem like the RPLiDAR A1 and A2 will have better resolution (he also confirmed this statement and then proceeded to recommend us RPLiDAR A1 or A2 for our purpose on having the best accuracy with close distance.
For example, at 1m distance, RPLiDAR A3 will have 5mm max resolution while RPLiDAR A1 and A2 according to the specifications will have 0,5mm max.
I wonder if any of you can confirm this
Thank you very much
