Rplidar a2 _ problem_scan

Hi, it is my first time here and i am new robotshop’client, sorry for my basic english, well, two days ago arrived me the sensor scanner RPILDAR A2 ( second version), the problem is in the scan with the SDK program (frame_grabber), I understand that first step is download the usb driver (cp210x), i did this, y I don’t know what is the problema, please help me with this.

Detected the port COM, but when i select this in the frame_grabber and I want to start scann, nothing appears. ( I read the manual SDK, I followed the steps) and the conection is ok.

It would be very helpful to the RobotShop community if you could edit your last post to add details about what the solution to your problem was. This could help others who face the same situation and find this topic while searching for a way to fix their issues.

As for what could cause such an issue, a power issue seems very likely.

Here is what the manufacturer had to say about powering the RPLidar A2:

Here is the further description about A2 power supply.

First, a suitable power supply is important for A2, otherwise, it cannot spin well and then fail to generate angle/distance data.
Second, A2 has large start-up current, 1.2-1.5A per latest spec, which is out of normal USB power supply range. So, you see, the tricky thing comes from here. USB3.0 with BC can provide up to 1.5A compared standard USB 500mA. Some PC/Laptop has very good USB design so that they can power up the A2, while some fails. So an external power supply is the backup way for customer if they fail with their computer.

A simple way for this, I think, can be: for A2 devKit, try to run it with computer first, if fail, find an adapter. For mass production with A2, an enough power supply MUST be provided by the system. We can emphasize the power supply section for customer and leave the space for decision making by themselves.

The spec of power/adapter can be 5V@2A.

Hi, i try to comunicate whit RPLIDAR UART PORT, but it not response me. i want to know if the TX pin and RX pin is conected correctly with the pin TX and RX of mi FPGA (TX with TX, RX with RX pin), well the comand to send is in Hexadecimal, but the problem persist.

First i used Xbee with your adapter usb, and i not see the Rplidar’s response, after i used FPGA.

The comand to send is in Hexadecimal?
The pin to PWM can to be 3.3 voltage constant?
Do you have any code where use the uart port of the RPLIDAR?
