RPlidar A1 M8 new purchase. I am unable to get it to work with my Arduino Uno. I have downloaded the gethub zip file but but nothing is working. Please help
Hi @rayb and welcome to the forum!
Please see instructions here: https://www.instructables.com/How-to-Use-the-RPLIDAR-360-Laser-Scanner-With-Ardu/
Are you using a separate power supply for LIDAR?
Is LIDAR working (rotating) but you are not getting any readings from it or it is not working at all?
I am using a seperate power supply for the rplidar. The rplidar is spinning.
When I try to download the zip file into the Arduino library the error “the subfolder does not have a valid library”. For a zip file to load into the Arduino ide it should have a subfolder with a library.description I think. Is it possible I have the wrong zip file or is there another approach to getting my rplidar working.
Thank you,
Ray
HI @rayb ,
Please see this Arduino post: RPLIDAR A1 conectet with arduino - Programming Questions - Arduino Forum
It should help you figure out the problem.
Thank you. I looked through the the info you asked me to look at to not avail. I have downloaded the library to two different computers and I get the same problem “the file is not a valid library” . I even tried another download form another site and it worked good. If there is no way to get your rplidar working on my arduino uno board then I need to return it because I am unable to use it. Can you send me some software directly so I can try it before sending it back.
Thank again for your help
Ray
