RP Lidar A1 for pixhawk

Hi im looking at purchasing an RP Lidar A1 360 will this connect up o/k to my pixhawk and work for avoidance

Yes, you can use the RPLidar A1 360 with the pixhawk for obstacle avoidance but only for indoor or outdoor environments without sunlight.

Thank you will be getting one soon,do I just connect to a serial port like a Lightware or Benewake

You can connect it the same way as you would with the RPLidar A2 360 degree lidar, here’s a great tutorial:
