i have a small problem i love 2 robots but can only get one. the robots are the robonova and the johnny 5( which is not out yet)
does anyone know which one might be better ?
These are two completely different types of robots, so it would be very difficult to compare them. It really depends on what you are interested (and what is actually available at the time). In this case, Johnny 5 isn’t even out yet, so if you are interested in the biped type, go for that one first. I’ve never dealt with the Robonova, so others will have to sing its praises or tell of its faults.
I can say that rovers can be a real hoot to work with. I have a semi-custom, soon to be fully custom, octagonal shaped two wheeled rover named W.A.L.T.E.R. that I really enjoy working with and modifying. I will be getting help to make a new body for him soon and have ordered the materials to make it out of, and that will make him completely custom. I have learned so much by tinkering with W.A.L.T.E.R. and am also getting the parts to convert him to use motors instead of CR servos for locomotion. I can tell you we are working on the Johnny 5 robot as fast as possible. I know it’s been a long time, but it IS happening. 
The tracked kit will be available in 2 weeks. The torso and arms are all stock SES components. In my opinion the Johnny 5 robot would be much more versitile. It can be used indoors or outdoors, and on all kinds of flooring. Much more weight can be added too.
so do u know when the wheeled base will be out? and can i buy the torso now and get the base later?
or sould i get thew robonova and get the johnny 5 when i have the money again?
i like both types of the robots and dont really care which one comes first
You can certainly buy the parts to make the torso now. I am not sure what you are referring to by wheeled base as this is a tracked base. 
If you are referring to the early version of J5 that had a wheeled base, I am not sure when or if it will be a kit. 
That’s the honest truth. It’s totally up to you what you get.
so the johnny 5 in robot magazine will not be a kit but they are coming out with a tracked vision?
Yes the wheeled Johnny 5 from the Robot Magazine was what we were going to do. But when I found the tracks I HAD to make the Johnny 5 with them. So the tracked vehicle is going to be available in a couple weeks. We are working on it now!
ok, but there most likely will not be a wheeled johnny 5 then or is the tracked one just coming out?
