Rover moves in reverse upon power up

I have just constructed my A4WD1 and I programmed the test code from the tutorial (a4wd1tst1) onto it. As soon as I power up the robot, it begins moving in reverse at “10%”. I press the appropriate buttons to increase the throttle by 10% and then it sits still. I am brand new at robotics and programming so forgive me if this is a dumb question.

Is this a problem with the code or with the Sabertooth 2X10 R/C Motor Controller? How do I fix it?

Try turning the auto calibrate dip switch on, and see if you still have that problem. If you don’t, then the ‘center’ on your Sabertooth is slightly off.
