Hi, I’ve built and assembled the ‘basic’ Rover’ kit. It works fine, the sample WASD program work beautifully through USB. My issue is that I also bought the bluetooth module, and no matter what I do, I cannot get it to be recognized by any phone, computer, or anything, for pairing and then further use. Is there something I’m mising? The module is labelled pins 1 and 20, and I am using the second XBee port, so I know I’m not inserting it wrong or anything. Could it be a faulty BT module, or is there something I’m missing? I’ve tried to pair it with the BT module’s switch set both ways, nothing, No LEDs light up on said module no matter what, either. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
Here’s a few ideas:
- Check the soldering of the XBee headers (just in case)
- Check the orientation of the BT module (there are numbers 1, 10, 11 and 20 on the board which correspond to the same numbers on the BT module)
- Check that the switch is set to XBee2 (so the Tx and Rx pins are connected to the BT module)
- Check the baud rate in the code vs the baud rate required by the module (might be 9600 or 115200).
If none of these solve the issue, write to us via the RobotShop Support Center, referencing this post and we’ll see about an exchange.
