I had the exact same issue. The Roomba would run about 6 inches and announce Error 14. My problem was dirt sensor lenses. They were dirty. Located under the front dirt bin they are clear pieces of plastic. Clean them off with rubbing alcohol with a q-tip and that may fix the issue. It worked for me.
