Interesting navigation solution
The linked site mentions something new to me: the Hagisonic Stargazer system.
It uses a powerful IR emitter and a camera. One or more passive IR beacons (reflectors) are placed on the ceiling. The camera plus image interpretation algorythm determines position and orientation.
Too bad it costs $1000 per robot.
