Heyyoo!
First time posting,
I got a roomba irobot model 980 from a customer. It did not come with a battery or docking station. Ordered both on eBay and went to install the battery and it doesn’t have any battery contact terminals inside the unit. The place where they should be has a fixed plastic piece installed. Has anyone experienced this issue? Also get no response from the unit when it is on the base. any insight would be helpful. Thanks for your time. -Pete
Hey!
Could you take a picture and show the plastic piece you are talking about?

Hey,
At first glance … it seems there’s no motherboard inside the unit …
There should be 4 springs, where there’s a plastic tab.
Have you tried to open the robot to see if it is legit?

I got it opened up as far I could before losing complete control of my anger. I think your assessment is correct and that it’s a fugazi. likely a display model. It was odd because it showed signs of wear and dust in collection like it was active at some point. Wasn’t sure if anyone had experience with these.
