We have a Roomba model 4131. With the battery in place the brushes run constantly. It will not move or vacuum. If you take the battery out it completly stops the brushes. I have let it run the battery completely down with just the brushes running. then put a fresh battery in it and same thing with the brushes only. I have looked at alot of the troubleshooting pages with no results on this problem. Miss " Rosey " has been a loyal member of our family for along time now. We really don’t want to let her go.
Thank you for the path forward. If I’m looking at this correctly you only have used or I guess reburbished motherboards for Model # 4131. If this is corect i’m gonna get one headed our way. Roll my sleeves up and try and get our Miss Rosey back up and running. Ive looked at the very, very good instructions in chapter 5. One thing I must ask is, do you think a surgical mask and maybe latex gloves would be appropiate for this procedure.
LOL : - ) Sorry could not resist. Thank you again for your prompt help with our problem.
We’re sorry to hear that Rosey is not cleaning as usual. This problem usually happens when the motor output on the robots motherboard remains open. Then, as soon as it has power, the motor runs.
Yes, we now unfortunately only carry used motherboards for the 4XX and 4XXX series. Most of the Discovery series robots have been discontinued and therefore, new parts are becoming less and less available. But, the used motherboards are usually from robots that have cleaned for a few cleaning cycles and are as new.
A mask and gloves would actually be a good idea. They can come in handy if your robot is very dusty.
We look forward to hearing how Rosey’s surgery goes.
