Roomba 880 not working

The Roomba 880 that we purchased in July is a very expensive round brick. The battery is not charging
properly, actually it is not charging sufficiently to do anything than send dings telling us it isn’t
working. The machine began to have unusual blinking light patterns about two months ago but
seemed to be working OK and was following it’s schedule. Then it began missing scheduled cleanings.
Now it is not working at all. We removed the battery 10 days ago. We have been away from home
until this weekend. We have carefully cleaned and maintained the 880. I have also followed the troubleshooting instructions in the manual. Nothing seems to help. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. Because of
Software glitches, i.e., not clearing schedules while holding the reset button down for the recommended time, I suspect that the problem is not just the battery.
