Roomba 5XX won't put dog hair into waste bin

Good Day!

I have a Roomba 500 Series that worked fine with our old dog (a rottweiler) and 3 cats. It was scheduled to clean our living/dining area daily and kept up perfectly. We have hardwood floors with one small area rug. Fast forward 2 years and we still have the roomba, 3 cats, but 2 different dogs. One is a border collie mix and the other is a boxer mix. The border collie mix has long wavy hair and the boxer mix has really course very short hair. When the roomba runs it gathers up all of the hair but keeps it on the brushes and it never goes into the bin. The brushes get packed with hair and other dirt. then when it hits our area rug, it deposits all of the hair along the edges. I completely took apart the roomba and cleaned everything and it didn’t help. I replaced the filter and got a new set of brushes. I have a set of aftermarket brushes and a set of OEM brushes and both do the same thing. I really want to continue to use and love my roomba but its useless to me right now.

any help appreciated.

thanks!

@jonrobomade,

Here are some tips : Bin emptying and brush cleaning should be done after every cleaning cycle. Regularly pull out and clean Roomba’s front wheel. If you notice Roomba picking up less debris from your floor, empty the bin
and clean the brushes. When maintaining Roomba, look for the yellow parts. These parts are designed to be removed and cleaned every time you empty Roomba’s bin.

Note: Excessive build up of hair can permanently damage Roomba. Remove brushes and inspect brush bearings regularly

Thank you for your reply. I have done all of this. Even with brand new brushes, and everything cleaned, it won’t even make it though the first run. very little goes to the bin.
