Roomba 560 Power Issue

My 560 is acting strange, here is what happens. After a reset I recharge until green then start clean cycle but within about 15 seconds or less the red light flashes approx 7x and it plays the dead tune. It will not run again until green charged. Is this a battery issue or is it potentially something else?

Thanks; I did try the battery reset but to no avail. My roomba started acting like this after it got jammed under a door during it’s cleaning cycle; it continued to grind away trying to break loose but I had to stop it. Could this cause some other problem with the circuitry or do you think it would have stressed just the battery?

Does the Oh-Oh tone go like this, “doo-dodo-doo”? lol their should be a mic on this forum  Yes it has done that and I think it blinked 6 times.
If I do have it repaired what are the chances it is beyond repair? And what would it cost approx. including shipping both ways? I’m in Edmonton AB Canada…

I am considering sending in my roomba for repair but am contemplating just buying a new machine because I am afraid other parts are worn and may also need repair soon. How long is the typical life span for all of the different parts on my 560? Specifically I’m concerned about the gear box; I’ve had to open it a number of times to clean out dog hair from my short haired weimaraners.
What would be the cost to replace the whole brush mechanism not including brushes?

I sent it in Monday; you should have it by tomorrow.

It’s arrived, here is my Tracking Number: 1Z23RW902071258514

Good Morning texduc,

It sounds like your robot’s battery is not keeping it’s charge. How long have you had that battery? It may need to be replaced, but before doing that you might want to try the battery reset procedure to see if it improves the battery life:

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need anything else.

Thanks,

Good afternoon texduc,

It sounds like the robot needs to be repaired then. You can find more info on our repair service here and here.

It could be that being stuck like that has damaged one of the components; it might be the battery but maybe something else as well. It’s difficult to be sure without looking at the robot. When it stops, has it ever gotten an ‘uh-oh’ tone followed by a specific number of beeps? Often times that can tell you what problem the robot is experiencing.

Thanks,

Good morning texduc,

The uh-oh tone sounds like the robot is actually saying oh-oh. It’s a two beep sound, usually followed by a number of beeps. It’s the number of beeps we look for when trying to determine the problem.

99.9% of roombas are repairable. For the shipping costs, you are responsible for sending it to us, and we pay the return shipping once the diagnostics and repairs are complete. You can find the costs involved and procedures that are followed for repairs here.

Thanks,

Good Morning texduc,

The parts lifespan can differ depending on use and how the robot is taken care of. There is no set time for each individual part. Regular care of the robot (As you have been doing with the casing gears) will always improve the lifespan and prevent breakdowns.

If you’re considering buying a new robot, we do have a trade-in policy. If you trade-in your old robot you get a 40$ credit towards the purchase of a new robot.

A new brush deck module can be found here.

Thanks,

Good day texduc,

Sorry for the delay in replying. The diagnostics have been handled by a repair technician already and you have been contacted with the results by now. Let us know if you need anything further.

Thanks,
