Hi,
I have an iRobot roomba 531 that doesn’t seem to charge.
I replaced the battery of that roomba some months ago because the previous battery was old and lost its charge rather quickly.
Power cable and docking station are still original, those have not been replaced.
The replacement battery worked fine for some months.
Now when the roomba is put in the docking station the light at the top flashes orange/amber very quickly for about a minute and then the light goes to green and stays green.
However when I remove the roomba from the docking station, the light goes off immediately and if I press the button to let it run, it doesn’t start.
I’ve also tried plugging in the power cable directly to the roomba (so no docking station) and I see the same thing: the light at the top flashes orange/amber very quickly for about a minute and then the light goes to green and stays green. If I then unplug the power cable the light goes off immediately and if I press the button to let it run, it doesn’t start.
I have tried pressing dock and spot button at same time to trigger reset and then let it charge, but that doesn’t help
I have tried letting the roomba charge for 24 hours, but that doesn’t help.
I opened up the roomba again and looked at the battery and cleaned the contacts a bit, but found nothing odd and that didn’t help.
Any advice, things I can try?
