Hello Guys,
so 3 years ago I posted this one roomba-400-series-4100-power-button-does-not-work-t10508
At the time I bought the motherboard from you, replaced it and my robot worked for another 3 years. Well, again the symptoms seems to repeat, I’ve been wondering if the problem is again the motherboard. Here are the details
- I measure the battery after a full cycle test and got only about 4v -> Robot was not able to turn on
- I’ve got a new battery, installed it, left it charge for 16 hours, then robot came back to life but showing only the LED as “red”
- It did a short cleaning cycle then it went dead again
- I tried to charge it again, after the full charging cycle it’s not able turn on at all. I measured the battery voltage and again is very (about 4.5v)
Is this the same motherboard problem?
Thanks in advance
Hi Maverick, It seems like it’s a motherboard problem but before purchasing a replacement motherboard, we would suggest verifying the output voltage of Roomba’s charger to make sure you get 22V.
This will rule out the robots charger.
Also, we would suggest you to perform a battery reset procedure, since it’s a new battery.
Hi MThibault
Thanks for your reply, so I verified the charger and is outputting 22v, I guess everything points that I need a new mother board. I remember that there’s an optional procedure where I can replace just few components on the mother board, is this a possible solution?
How much would it be the mother board or the components if that’s an option?
Regards
Hi maverick, unfortunately we do not carry the motherboard or the components in our catalog, as it’s been discontinued. We suggest you to verify on auction websites such as ebay.
