Romeo Shared Pins for Motor Control?

So on the Romeo controller, I know in the doc’s it says you can use pins 4 - 7 for motor control. However my question is that if I am using the motor terminals, then that means that really pins 4 - 7 are in use already correct?

The screw terminals at the back are for the motor connections FROM the motor controller, while pins 4-7 are TO the motor controller (input vs output).
