Do I still need additional hardware in order to establish a wireless connection between the romeo BLE all in one and my computer? If so what did I get for my money? I already have a motor controller shield and an arduino uno. I thought this product provided blue tooth capability! Am I missing something?
Hi,
The DFRobot Romeo BLE All-in-one Microcontroller should be able to connect to other devices using bluetooth without any additional hardware.
Please take a look at the Romeo’s wiki to know how to configure the microcontroller and for sample codes.
Regards,
This is the response I got from DF Robot to the same question.
“Sorry for the inconvenience brought to you.
So far, our BLE device is only compatible with our BLE series, not support other BLE device yet. So you still need an adapter (robotshop.com/en/usb-ble-link-bluetooth-module.html) for the PC.”
The wiki page also indicates that a “BLE Link” is required in order to connect to a PC/Laptop. Since both my laptop and PC are Bluetooth capable I thought I was good to go. Apparently not though.
Thanks

Hi,
You are correct indeed. The Romeo BLE will need the USB BLE-Link adapter or the Bluetooth BLE link Bee to connect to PC. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Regards,
The part # for the microcontroller I have is RB-Dfr-582. Is there a device that will allow me to connect this device to both my laptop and my android phone via bluetooth?
Thanks
Hi,
You can use the USB BLE-Link Bluetooth Module to connect your Romeo BLE to PC.
Here is a step-by-step tutorial to connect the Romeo to an Android phone.
