(Robotics Noob Here) Could Use Some Help With A Design

Hello,

I’m a total robotics greenhorn, however I would like to create something I’ve had in mind for a while. What I would need is to create a load-bearing arm that pronates/supinates like a human hand, although on a smaller scale, and for it to be a timer-activated system. I just have no idea where to start, needless to say. Any pearls of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
