I want to start robotics Clubs in inner city schools in my country Jamaica but don’t know where to start. We think getting these inner city kids engaged in activities that are interesting, and build their problem solving and critical thinking skills will result in better educational/personal out come.
I need help with:
- Kit selection - Which kit is best for high school kids age 13 to 18
- Training for teachers
- Relevant projects
- Club manual etc.
We would need programmable kits reasonably priced.
Any help, suggestions or just a link pointing me in the right direction would set me on my way. Feel free to reach out to me.
@agevelyn Welcome to the RobotShop Community. That’s an excellent initiative and hands-on always helps when it comes to learning.

This is really determined based on budget and how many students you want to be working on a robot at a time. Some clubs focus on a sigle “team” robot, while others have a number of members each working on a robot, and if budget allows, one robot per member. Do you want to reuse these robots (i.e. can be disassembled).
Given that customers are located worldwide, not many offer in-person or even remote training. Normally if available, educational material is available for download.
Depends on what you’re looking to do.
Propose making this short and simple covering responsibility (materials etc.).
Given the insights above, can you provide additional information?
