Most of the robotic arms we offer can be controlled using some form of serial communication. In most cases, the communication protocol used is not platform dependent and can be used with the appropriate connection on any OS/microcontroller/etc.
For example, the Lynxmotion robotic arms currently only offer Windows-based software but you can use/control the arm using any software that can access a serial port and send strings through it. Therefore, this would be compatible with Mac-based computers, too. You can view an example written in .NET to control a AL5 robotic arm with a SSC-32U board.
Alternatively, you can also choose the BotBoarduino (Arduino-compatible microcontroller board) version of the AL5 and program it with specific sequences. Then, you can control that using your Mac over a serial port (USB)
