which type of rotery encoder i can use in robotic arm

@om29 Welcome to the RobotShop Community. What actuators do you plan to use in each joint? If you want to measure angular position:

  • Potentiometer: absolute position measurement
  • Optical encoder: relative position measurement, normally requires limit switch or “zeroing”
  • Magnetic encoder: absolute position measurement but more difficult to physically integrate
