Robot to clean aquarium

Hi, im looking to built a robot that can drive on the outside of an aquarium while pulling a magnet on the inside to clean away any algea that builds up. I was hoping to make this robot relatively small but im struggling to source the parts to do so.

If anybody has any ideas of what kind of things i should be looking for i would greatly appreciate it.

Perhaps it can give you some ideas for your own design.

One idea I had is to have

One idea I had is to have something that runs around the top.  It would connect on the inside and outside of the glass with rubber wheels that would move it along.  It would then have two sticks, one that is on the outside one that is on the inside that move up and down.  The one on the outside would have a magnet to ensure the inside brush is on the glass.  To move around corners and anything hanging from the top, would be interesting.

You probably could use 6-12V motors and then waterproof them ala how RC boats waterproof electronics and just use off the shelf parts pretty much.  This has hints on water proofing with a real quick Googling waterproofing motors:

Thanks for the input guys im

Thanks for the input guys im just getting back round to this project as my baby girl made an early appearance so I have had my hands full recently. The robosnail is particularly interesting and is similar to what I had envisaged, only problem is because im just really getting started with robotics im still not sure what parts would be best suited for a robot like this.

Could anybody recommend some parts e.g. project board, motors, and a suitable type of sensor that would be required.

Thanks
